He could become the highest paid player at the club, ready to sign for Mehmet

Anis Mehmeti is having a very good season with Bristol City, with six goals and six assists in 19 matches.

His contract expires at the end of the season and his current wage of £9,000-a-week is considered low for his level. The club are concerned that a lack of renewal could lead to the player leaving, even in the January transfer window.

Interest from other clubs, including foreign ones, is expected to increase and they could start pre-contract talks. Bristol City are ready to open negotiations for a renewal and significantly increase the player's salary.

If the parties agree, Mehmeti could become the club's highest-paid player. Currently, the highest-paid player is Luke McNally on around £20,000 a week. The situation remains open and the direction it will take depends on discussions that will take place soon.
