Injuries in goal, Bayern will trust a 16-year-old

Bayern Munich are considering the possibility of using 16-year-old Leonard Prescott in goal for the Champions League return match against Atalanta.

Coach Vincent Kompany is facing a real emergency following injuries to Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich, turning his attention to the talent born in 2009.

The 196cm-tall German-American goalkeeper could make history as the youngest debutant in the elite competition. However, his activation requires special legal permission in Germany due to restrictions on employment for minors after certain hours.

This situation is similar to the case of Lamine Yamal during Euro 2024, where similar administrative procedures were required for his participation. Although the 6-1 victory in the first leg gives the Bavarians peace of mind, the public's eyes have turned to their bench.

The final decision will depend entirely on the fitness of goaltender Jonas Urbig before the game. If the clearance is approved, Prescott will face the biggest test of his young career.
