The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, has visited the dental cabinet at the 9-year-old School "Mihal Grameno", within the Health Screening and Dental Care Program for children aged 6-14 years in schools, made possible thanks to the investment of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection for the construction of new dental cabinets, with modern equipment.

“Jam e kënaqur që nisëm këtë program në 10 kabinete të reja dentare në shkollat e Tiranës. Gjithashtu do të shtrihemi këtë vit edhe në tre qarqe, me 8 kabinete në Shkodër, në Elbasan dhe në Durrës”, tha Manastirliu.

Ministrja e Shëndetësisë dhe Mbrojtjes Sociale u shpreh se objektivi është për ta shtrirë këtë program në të gjithë Shqipërinë, ndërkohë që bëri me dije se dy njësi të lëvizshme do të jenë gati për të depistuar nxënësit në zonat rurale.
“Ne planifikojmë që të kemi gjithashtu edhe dy kabinete të lëvizshme, të cilat brenda vitit do t’i kemi, për të mundësuar edhe vizitat dhe kontrollin për kujdesin ndaj dhëmbëve edhe në zonat rurale, aty ku aksesi është më i pakët, që të garantojmë që fëmijët tanë të jenë edhe më të shëndetshëm”, tha Manastirliu.

Another program being implemented by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection is the vision screening program.
"We have the opportunity through our doctors, through our specialists, to screen children in terms of vision problems. There are more than 270,000 children who benefit from our two programs, either in terms of the Vision Care Program, or in terms of the Oral Care Program", said Manastirliu.

Until now, over 82 thousand children throughout the country have been screened for vision in schools, of which, about 10 thousand of them have been referred to a specialist doctor. While from the Dentistry Program in the schools of Tirana, so far over 1 thousand children have been screened and treated./ CNA.al
