Covid-19/ PIH specialist: In winter, cases are expected to increase, the dominant variant being BA5

PHI specialist Artan Simaku spoke about the pandemic situation in our country.

Simaku said that during the month of July there was also the peak of cases, while October and November are expected to bring an increase in cases.

 Simaku also appealed for vaccination as the only preventive tool.

"The number of cases has been decreasing for several weeks, it is expected to continue in the coming days. This downward trend is across the European continent.

In July we had the peak. It is predicted that from November we will have an increasing trend, that winter wave, but this is not predicted to be aggressive. The risk of mutations is not excluded. As for the variant, BA5 dominates, followed by BA4.

In addition to covid, we will also have the flu. Vaccination should also be carried out with the third dose. Vaccination remains the main means of prevention. " /CNA.al
