Three branches of study will be closed this new academic year at "Fan Noli" University in Korça.

It is about the branch of mathematics, the French language and business, where according to Dhimitër Bello's record, in the first phase of registrations in these study programs, not a single student was registered.

"They can be suspended for two or three years, as happened to the preschool a few years ago, which was closed for 1 or 2 years."

Bello says that even in some other branches of teaching and agriculture there is a very low number of registrations.

While the most preferred are the study programs in the Faculty of Public Health, nursing and the business branch lead.

"The most sought-after programs are those that graduates think will have more opportunities to be employed. They are the branches of finance-accounting, nursing, midwifery, physical education and sports. There are fewer teacher programs, with the exception of English, as the others have lower enrollment figures. And there are no satisfactory figures at the Faculty of Agriculture."

In the first phase, about 450 students were registered, according to the rector, this figure is slightly higher than in the previous academic year. The majority of those registered at the University of Korça are young people who live in this district, but there is also a smaller number from Përrenjasi and Librazhdi. /CNA.al
