A serious incident occurred this Monday in Korça, where a 70-year-old woman was found dead inside her apartment and, according to initial suspicions, may have died a few days ago.

The elderly woman's neighbor has shared some painful details from the life of the 70-year-old, identified as Bayme Memetali.

The neighbor indicated that the elderly woman had numerous health problems and was living in difficult conditions, due to her economic and family situation.

 "We were worried because we hadn't seen her and went into the house of some neighbors. We saw that she had passed away. She lived alone, her son was in prison, her husband had passed away and there was no one else here. She had a sister in Tirana but she rarely came to see her. She had health problems, as some time ago she had fallen from the 4th floor and could not leave the house. She lived in difficult conditions," the neighbor said.

A preliminary examination of the victim's body revealed no signs of violence.

The body is expected to undergo a forensic examination to determine the cause of death. /CNA
