Health Awareness/ Survey: 65% of young people regularly undergo breast

A survey conducted by the Student Councils Union focused extensively on an important issue for society, such as raising awareness among women and girls about breast screenings.

Students from the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Journalism and Communication in Tirana joined the survey.

The questionnaire was distributed to all age groups, aiming to inform the families of women and girls about the importance of medical visits. The majority of respondents belonged to the age group of 16-25 years.

According to the survey data, 65% of young people are checked regularly, while 13. 5% only visit the health center when they feel worried. The survey was completed by 311 people, of whom over 60% were aware of the risks of breast cancer. A percentage of respondents said that they were informed about the “Pink October” awareness campaigns through information from family doctors.

The questionnaire was also completed by 5.8% of boys and men, who understand the role in emotional support if a family member is affected by the disease.

Data processed from a survey conducted by the Union of Student Councils highlights that despite awareness campaigns, the need for health education and psychological support is great. /CNA
