Supporters of King Zog/Prince Leka II honored in Shkodra: You have remained

The legalist and supportive families of King Zog were honored in Shkodra in a meeting with the presence of Prince Leka Zogu II, who stated that these Shkodra residents have remained loyal throughout history and that his royal family has a great love for a city like Shkodra.

"It is an honor for me to be in this city that has played such an important role in the history of Albania. Shkodra has always been a hearth of culture, faith and resistance. A living example of coexistence and national dignity. I came not to do politics nor to express any orientation but only to express gratitude to you Zogists who have stood close to my family. Often I am speechless, you have stood loyally for the good of our country, so I thank you all", said Prince Leka.

Ted Kopliku, who was the DP candidate for Shkodra in the May 11 elections under the Legalists' banner, and the leader of this political force, Shpetim Axhami, stated that the time has come to return to the throne.

"In 45 years, traitors were sold to us as great patriots and those who served the nation as traitors. The entire history of humanity is a battle of narratives and our task is to make our narrative win. So what was the true value of the Albanian nation? King Zog came at a difficult moment for Albania. It is not our task to just cry, 45 years of communism and now another 30 years the Albanian right is persecuted and marginalized because mediocrity has seized the heights of power in the entire political scene, in all institutions. Criminality and the unreliability of institutions is one of the main factors that determines the course of events in our country. Depopulation, fragmentation, departure more than ever with Kosovo and what is our task? It is to remember how many we are and we have a mission, not only Shkodra but the entire region has people who have served the nation. We have a youth that is leaving and my call is for them to return and have their own approach. We must "to go against the tide and return to universal values," said Kopliku.

"For a century, entire generations of legalists have remained loyal to the Zog thesis and our royal cause for the nation, for the King, for the state and for our free ethnic lands. It is a moral and historical obligation for us to remember with respect those who fought for these ideals. We have undertaken the project 'Return to the roots, Legalist spirit', to remember and appreciate the cream of the legalists throughout Albania. It is no coincidence that we started this in Shkodër, among you as a hearth of nobility and a bastion of Kingship and Zogism. Here, people were formed who served with dedication under the leadership of King Zog to build the first modern Albanian state", said Axhami.

At the end of the meeting, several Shkodra families who remained loyal to the royal family and contributed throughout history were honored with a certificate of gratitude from Prince Leka II. /CNA
