"FOLK GAMES FEST"/ 18 years part of festive activities

The 18th edition of the “Folk Games Fest” took place in Shkodra. This traditional activity brought together representatives from Albanian-speaking regions, bringing games, music, and cultural motifs that keep the heritage alive from generation to generation.

The Deputy Mayor of Shkodra Municipality, Teuta Qyteza, also participated in this activity, welcoming the participants and emphasizing the importance of preserving and promoting traditions. She stated that Shkodra, as a center of Albanian culture and history, has a special role in supporting activities that give life to national identity.

"Already transformed into a tradition, this edition brings innovation, many friends and guests. Welcome to these emotions that we, as Shkodra, love and promote very much. "Folk games" originated when there were neither symphony orchestras nor weddings as we do today. Therefore, these games increase our desire not only to promote them but also to support them because they are values ??of our cultural heritage, of the Albanian people inside and outside the country. As you saw, in the performances we had small children dressed in folk costumes, manifesting what they know how to do best. Therefore, I would like to greet the organizers and the Municipality of Shkodra, which is the promoter of these activities."

"Popular Games Fest" is now a tradition of "The Door", which now, with the support of the Municipality of Shkodra, aims to bring Albanian-speaking communities closer together and pass on their values ??to the younger generations, turning Shkodra into an important meeting point of Albanian culture./ CNA
