"Paddle Board Open Day"/ Xhafa: We aim to attract local visitors

This weekend marked the launch of a new initiative on the shores of Lake Shkodra, “Padel Board Open Day.” An initiative that aims to bring children and young people closer to the beauties of the largest lake in the Balkans.

This activity was welcomed by the participants, who, in addition to having fun, had the opportunity to learn a new sport and a special way to explore the natural resources of Shkodra.

" Drini Time, in cooperation with the bird surveillance agency and the Shkodra municipality, have taken this initiative to hold an open day at the Lake with ecological means such as paddle, so that young people and the rest of the population have the opportunity for a sport that is widespread throughout the world. It has also started in our country but not at the levels we aim for. So, together with a small group, we plan to carry out such an activity once or twice a year ," said Drini Xhafa.

 

The organizers emphasized that this is just a first step towards creating a tradition of similar activities, which not only promote sport, but also raise awareness of the value of preserving and sustainably using Lake Shkodra. Meanwhile, regarding the interest of tourists to explore the lake, he stated that the greatest interest is from foreigners.

"Lake Shkodra is a destination that foreigners explore more than Albanian tourists. This is a paradox and we want to turn it around with such initiatives so that Albanian tourists also visit it in an ecological way ," said one of the organizers.

 

Now Lake Shkodra and the Buna River can be explored with opportunities for water sports./ CNA
