Eighth Edition/ Held in Kolonjë, “Painters' Colony”

Over 45 painters from Albanian-speaking lands will paint the tourist attractions and most special views that this region offers for three days. According to them, the autumn of Kolonja this time is magical and looks good on canvas.

"I am Pashk Pervathi from Lezha, this is the first time I have come to Kolonjë. I came to Kolonjë but also privately because I like Kolonjë very much. I like the relief, the endless Gramozi as a sculpture in nature, I have painted it several times, I have it in my special collection. Autumn this year is better than Korça, than Pogradec, we are stuck here and we are enjoying it."

"Every year we come, it's more beautiful than the other years, we come with the desire to capture moments on canvas.

"I am painting the Gramoz mountain and Erseka."

"Kolonja is full of beautiful landscapes, from Qafa e Qarrit to Leskovik. Today I'm painting the church of Borova. I was obsessed with it today. We are at the foot of Starja, there are many in Rehova, Borova, Shelegur and many others."

"Autumn is very beautiful, it is now at its most spicy moment and the colony has arrived at the most opportune moment."

Fatmir Toçi, curator of this colony, says that it has now become a tradition for dozens of painters to stay in Kolonjë during the fall, while such activities also serve to promote the area.

"So it could be the 8th edition in the province of Kolonja. It has already become common where 45 painters from all Albanian territories, not only from Albania and Kosovo but also Macedonia and Montenegro, giving their contribution but also promoting this province, with the idea that art this time is at the service of tourist developments and will help in everything"

Some of the paintings produced will be donated to the art gallery fund in Kolonjë./ CNA
