Magical December in Korça/Saro: Special organization, the capital of year-end holidays

The month of December is very special everywhere in the country, and even more so in Korça, where lights, music, and year-end festivities come together in the best way.

The Publications Specialist at the Municipality of Korça, Lorena Saro, says that a series of activities are planned for this festive month, culminating with the New Year's Eve.

"December is the month where Korça takes on a special glow. We proudly call it the capital of the end-of-year holidays in Albania, because during this period the city comes alive with lights, music and visitors who come to experience a unique atmosphere.

This magic is also reflected in the number of visitors: this year too, Korça is booked up throughout the month, not only for Christmas and New Year's Eve, but every weekend, even on ordinary days.

The celebrations begin with the lighting of the lights on December 6, at 6:00 PM, in the pedestrian zone, with the Armed Forces Wind Orchestra and a performance by Gerta Mahmutaj at the Old Bazaar, thus creating two festive scenes in the city.

The wooden hut fair and this year's novelty, Santa's hut near the Cathedral, will provide joy for children, while the skating rink remains one of the most popular attractions.

Every weekend, Korça serenades at the Old Bazaar restore the city's identity and give visitors a warm and authentic atmosphere.

The culmination of the celebrations comes on New Year's Eve, with a concert by Venera Lumani and Lind Islam, in addition to a fireworks spectacle, turning December 31st into an unforgettable evening for residents and friends who will be in Korça.
