The University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi" in collaboration with the Albanian Institute of Sociology organized the 20th Annual International Conference on the theme: "Development in turbulent times". An interdisciplinary conference that brings together researchers, lecturers, students and professionals from the Balkans, Europe and other countries of the world....

The Rector of "Luigj Gurakuqi" University, Tonin Gjuraj, has stated that technological developments should be used to discover the limits of human impossibility.

" International and interdisciplinary are two keywords that constitute the trend of current developments in universities in the world, alongside development and technology. We are here to discuss how social sciences and humanities, their university curricula, can be reviewed in the function of development. Technological developments should not encourage us to be competitors and imitators of our intelligent creatures, but to conduct experiments to discover the limits of human impossibility. No matter how much technology advances, the answer to all of today's challenges is only man ," said Gjuraj.

 

The Director of the Albanian Institute of Sociology and Lekë Sokoli and Brisena Kopliku, Director of International Relations at the University of Shkodra, expressed that this conference in Shkodra is important given that the level of conflicts in the world has increased...

Sokoli said that this is a circulating conference that takes place always crossing borders.

 

" This topic was selected because we live in turbulent times. The Peace Index revealed that compared to a year ago, the level of conflicts in the world has increased significantly. There are about 103 countries that have significantly increased the level of economic militancy and the issue is that Europe and the Middle East are at the center. This is a rotating conference that takes place, always crossing borders in Kosovo or Albania or North Macedonia. There are a total of 20 international partners who are co-organizers, including countries like Italy ," Sokoli declared.

 

Kopliku stated that this conference has an interdisciplinary character.

 

" For this year, Shkodra has taken on the role of host of this important conference. This conference also has many elements that are focused on issues of education, social developments, the field of psychology, there are many elements from economic, geographical and even cultural aspects and therefore it has the character of an interdisciplinary conference ," said Kopliku.

This event places the University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi" at the center of international scientific dialogue.
