Rama in Brussels on Monday/ Expected to meet with the President of the EC

Prime Minister Edi Rama will pay an official visit to Brussels on Monday, where he will meet with the President of the Council of Europe, Antonio Costa. According to information, the meeting is expected to discuss the country's EU integration negotiations and the progress of this process.

Albania has not yet received the Judicial Reform Benchmark Assessment Report for Chapters 23 and 24, known as IBAR. Without the approval of this report by the member states, the process of closing the chapters cannot begin.

In the meetings so far at the ambassadorial level, there have been requests for concrete evidence of senior officials convicted with final decisions and seizure of their assets.

Meanwhile, with the new negotiation methodology, an EU member state may, in these circumstances, request a return to the starting point. Chapters 23-24 on the Judiciary were opened first and closed last. /CNA
