Elections in Kosovo/ CEC Spokesperson: Recount of up to 10% of polling stations

The spokesperson for the CEC of Kosovo, Valmir Elezi, has provided an update on the vote counting process.

Elezi said that after receiving materials from municipal counting centers, a recount could be decided in up to 10% of the counting sites.

This mechanism, said Elezi, serves the security of the counting process.

Regarding the completion of the process, Elezi said that the counting of votes for parliamentary candidates will not be completed on the same day.

Elezi also spoke about conditional votes, those of people with special abilities, and votes from the diaspora, for which he said certain verification criteria must be met to ensure that there was no double voting.

 

"Upon receipt of election materials from municipal counting centers, a recount may be ordered for up to 10% of randomly assigned counting sites. This mechanism serves the security of the counting process for parliamentary candidates and increases the accuracy of the vote count."

The completion of the process of counting the votes of the candidates for deputies will not be done on the same day. I believe that within a few days this process will be concluded. The withdrawal of diaspora votes will be done during these days, they will be brought to Kosovo through the economic operator.

"For the counting of conditional votes, votes of people with special needs and votes of the diaspora, certain criteria must be met to ensure that there was no double voting ," said Elezi.
