Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi, in his speech at the opposition protest, said that Edi Rama's rule is over and the prime minister must resign now.
Këlliçi declared that today's protest is to teach a final political lesson, that power is not property. The Democrat said that today a precedent will be set that no one will dare to overturn.
Focusing on Rama, Këlliçi said that he is no longer prime minister but the ringleader of a plundering system.
Këlliçi, focusing on the protests held in front of Tirana City Hall and the arrest of Erion Veliaj and his directors, said that this will be the end of Edi Rama.
Full word
Today we are not gathered to perform a political ritual or to repeat a routine protest. We are here as missionaries, convinced that this is a historic moment and that the truth must be told unequivocally: this power is over. The resignation of Edi Rama is no longer a matter of time or political calculation; it is an immediate necessity.
In the shadow of this building, a symbol of the current government, a dark drama has been unfolding for some time. Fear, violence, blackmail, betrayals and backstabbing have become a daily part of a system that is disintegrating from within. Mourning has fallen on the palace of corruption and their sleep has been finally broken.
Those who enter and exit these offices no longer do so to govern, but to cover up crimes and gather evidence against each other. Stored messages, secret videos, wiretaps, and safes full of secrets have become weapons among a gang that still calls itself a government. Its leader no longer knows who to protect and who to sacrifice.
The billions looted in tenders, construction sites and public assets no longer serve to save it. The monstrous mechanism that for more than a decade was kept alive with Albanian money, with fear, pressure, violence, media manipulation and the destruction of the opposition, has today collapsed. Along with the money, health, education, security and quality of life have also disappeared. One million and one hundred thousand Albanians were forced to leave the country.
Today, history has been reversed. Those who ruled through fear are themselves afraid. Those who blackmailed are now being blackmailed among themselves. Those who spoke of stability no longer even control their own shadow.
This is the moment to address those who did not bow down, the citizens who did not sell their dignity, the journalists and public figures who spoke out even when it was dangerous. Their resilience is the reason why we are so many and so determined today.
Today, a fundamental political lesson is being taught: a mandate is not property, nor a privilege, nor a license to steal. It is a service to citizens. When you abuse it, you leave. When you betray trust, your mandate ends. When you treat the state as plunder, you answer to the law. What is decided today must remain a precedent for the future.
No one is immune to the wrath of the people. No one should live with the illusion that they can govern against the people and find peace. The resignation of Edi Rama is an act of national emergency, because he has long been no longer the prime minister, but the leader of a predatory and destructive system.
History has shown that when you don't give in to bargaining and don't surrender, the overthrow comes. Those who seemed untouchable fell one by one. The criminal groups that ruled Tirana ended up in prison. Others who were considered untouchable until yesterday are following the same path.
The bells that ring today remind us that power is not eternal. This square is no longer seeking, but deciding. Albanians do not overthrow the state; they overthrow abuse. The people are the ones who decide and the people are the ones who remove.
What is happening today is just the beginning. Albania is in a difficult moment, but also close to a new hope. The alternative exists and this country is not finished. The end is coming for those who tried to destroy it.
