"Expectations for EU membership"/ Balla: Amendments for protected

The Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, shared today some comments regarding two developments on Wednesday, the approval in the EP of the draft resolution on Albania and the votes on the amendments on protected areas.

Speaking to reporters, Balla said that there is an expectation for the country's EU membership by the end of the current EP mandate.

"The expectation in Strasbourg or Brussels is that Albania and Montenegro will be part of this EP mandate," said Balla.

Balla further focused on the amendments, saying that it is shameful that investors who serve the development of the Albanian economy are being identified.

Regarding the amendment for Vjosa, the socialist said that it is a matter of a misunderstanding of terms.

"Shameful amendment that identified investors and the amendment of the green formation, which was not voted on. Their arguments are rightly respected. Let's keep in mind that we also need the spirit of supporting investment, which is the engine of economic development in any country. In amendment 17, one sentence is accepted, also said by Rama, which is a process in progress. If you take Rama's explanation on Sunday, they are the same sentences as amendment 17.
