Preparing business for EU integration/ Rama: We will increase support for

Prime Minister Edi Rama participated in the presentation of the national program for preparing businesses for integration into the European Union.

Rama stated that this program was created to support Albanian entrepreneurship, as according to him this brings new jobs and economic growth.

Among other things, he emphasized that every small and medium-sized entrepreneur will have funding and support from the government.

"We are committed to creating this national program that we will support with the expertise of UNDP, to assist Albanian entrepreneurship. We are in a situation where we need to increase support for entrepreneurship because this is the system of creating new jobs through entrepreneurship. Without the entrepreneur, there are only illusions and abysses. We want Albanian small and medium-sized enterprises to have the chance today that if they have the capacity for courage, of ideas for tomorrow, to have our support.

Our support for this category is significant and will be materialized with the “Double Your Business” program. Every small and medium-sized entrepreneur will have financing with government support thanks to the Bank of Albania’s low-interest credit line and significant financing. We will not stop at a quota like the one we have foreseen. If more is needed, there will be more.

"Another aspect of this journey is the growth and strengthening of start-ups in Albania. We have told young people that we will increase funding proportionally with the increase in applications. We want to organize a cycle of hundreds of trainings and increase certification according to EU standards," said the Prime Minister.

Rama emphasized during his speech the need for informing businesses about what comes with inclusion in the large European market.

"Entrepreneurship needs knowledge and we all need information. We need to know what comes with inclusion in the large European market. You become an entrepreneur within the EU, the rules and standards apply equally, but also the chances in the area of ??freedom of competition. It is a great challenge that comes with great opportunities but also great risks," he said. /CNA
