"For us it is religion"/ Rama: Within this decade we will be in the EU

Prime Minister Edi Rama, at another forum in London, stated that Albania will very soon be in the EU within this decade.

Rama said that for Albanians, the EU is a religion and 92% of people want our country to be part of the EU.

"Very soon, within this decade, we will be in the EU. At the moment, I am very optimistic. Albania's vision is defined by our history.

We want to be part of the EU. For us the EU is a religion. 92% of people want to be part of the EU.

I think the EU is the most wonderful project ever created by man when it comes to politics, but the biggest question is how much capacity it will have to complete this project to create the United States of Europe, to preserve each country's personal space but having a stronger architecture of living together.

No one has forced us to be in the EU, we want to be part of the EU because we want to have the freedom to have human rights, the rule of law, everything that is embodied in the EU.

"The EU is a great blessing for countries like ours that do not have a strong and long-standing tradition of institutions," Rama said./ CNA
