Worth around 400 million euros/ Tirana Municipal Council approves the Budget for 2026

The Tirana Municipal Council approved the Budget for 2026 this Thursday. This budget amounts to around 400 million euros.

The approved budget provides for 1,500 soft loan quotas for young couples, free passes for students and pensioners, as well as 1,400 rental bonuses for families affected by the earthquake and for beneficiaries of economic assistance.

The budget has allocated 9.2 million euros for around 12,000 students, who will benefit from school meals for the first time.

During the session, 29 amendments proposed by the opposition, with a total value of around 90 million euros, were not put to a vote.

Earlier, the Council had requested Veliaj 's  participation in the budget discussions, but SPAK rejected the request, while the mayor himself had warned in a letter that approving the budget without his presence would not be legitimate./CNA
