The Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, received the US Chargé d'Affaires, Nancy VanHorn, in the Assembly.

Through a post on social media, Balla states that the focus of the conversation was the dialogue and legislative agenda of the Assembly within the framework of multifaceted reforms, where essential priorities include fulfilling Albania's obligations on the path to membership in the European Union within this mandate.

Balla also underlined the country's responsibilities in the field of security:

"We also discussed obligations in the field of security as a NATO member country, a strategic ally with the US."

In the meeting with VanHorn, Balla praised the role of the US and the American President in global peace processes.

“We appreciate above all the leadership role of President Trump and the US efforts for peace and security everywhere in the world. Last week, under the leadership of Prime Minister Rama, Albania marked a decisive moment with the opening of the final group chapter of negotiations at the 7th Albania-EU Intergovernmental Conference in Brussels.”

The two officials also discussed the intensification of parliamentary relations between Tirana and Washington:
