The last act of the Special Prosecutor's Office for seizing the Tirana incinerator is undoubtedly the biggest blow that has been given to this majority during the last decade. With a single decision, the ruling party was stripped of more than €15 million a year, which it had been stubbornly paying to wanted thugs since December 2021. It was that money that was then returned to it in the form of funding. of the media that supported him or of the electoral struggle against opponents.
Together with the finances, the renaissance also lost its moral card. If from 2017 until a while ago, the public debate took place around the dilemma of whether the incinerators are a model project or, on the contrary, a corrupt scheme. Now nobody, not even Edi Rama himself, denies the theft anymore. After SPAK's recent interventions, the discussion has shifted to whether it was carried out behind the Prime Minister's back or in collaboration with him.
We must be realistic. No matter how much he pretends that he was angry or that he was at odds with his former deputy Ahmetaj, Edi Rama did not like the file prepared against him. Because it reveals, in the eyes of everyone, a state caught in the head, a government that made decisions ordered by Klodian Zoto's computer, ministers who were paid bribes, hotel bills, planes and luxury expenses, in exchange for firms that would throw.
Even less does the renaissance like the act of confiscating the Tirana incinerator, which it protected and financed until the end. The fact that after Arben Ahmetaj attention is being focused on the role of Erion Veliaj is another stain of shame.
For all these reasons, the recent actions of SPAK have raised the dilemma of whether the Special Prosecutor's Office has finally been separated from the tutelage of power? If she is acting independently and outside of political influences? So in short, if it has gotten out of control of the big boss?

As a person who has long denounced the failure of justice reform and the capture of the Special Prosecutor's Office in particular, I must admit that the recent events have surprised me. Today, I would find it several times more difficult to write (KAPS) her name backwards, as I did when I faced her myself, for the scandal of the patron Nazis or for other scandalous cases such as the closing of the file on the wiretapping of election thefts in Diber.
It seems as if the balances have been tipped somewhat. Perhaps the pressure of international factors, who saw themselves ridiculed by a reform that they were slipping, as if without realizing it, under the saddle, perhaps the ascetic protagonism of a rock-headed prosecutor like Altin Dumani, have caused some files to get out of control of power.
If until a year ago I could say with my mouth full that SPAK was a tool of Edi Rama, today I cannot easily join the chorus of those who affirm this.
I am sure that if Rama had 100% control, the events would not have turned out like this. He would have continued to paint us an ideal Albania, where his collaborators are clean and militate for great goals, where no minister is preoccupied with personal enrichment, but with collective well-being, where Albania is being cleaned of garbage once and for all, as Top Channel, Klan and News 24 documentaries, sponsored by the two Claudes, showed.
The propaganda image that Rama would like to convey, just like all autocrats, is that of a party gathered in the belly of the incinerator of Elbasan, to show what a great gift he is giving to the people.
This fable has already been written. This fact is enough to show that SPAK is no longer completely in the loop.
But, to announce the final exit from it, much more evidence would be needed. If the Special Prosecutor's Office has taken some timid steps against power, it still carries on its wet shoulders, indelible stains of corruption with it. Ignoring every electoral crime that ensures the power of this majority, the closure of a case like that of the theft of personal data of 900 thousand citizens, the mockery of files 184 and 339 and the care that nothing reaches Rama, evoke strong shadows of suspicion .

If we take an example from the past, with that old justice, anathematized by everyone, one of the arguments of her critics was that she treated former Prime Minister Berisha as untouchable. He was never questioned, neither about the path of the nation, nor about January 21, while his children never crossed the threshold of the prosecutor's office, even to be asked about Gërdec or the denunciation of the Pakistani businessman, Ansar. But this SPAK of the new justice, has he dared to do this with Rama, for the incinerators, concessions in health, the new ring or the demolition of the theater?
Well, if the Special Prosecutor's Office is scrambling to escape the control of the all-powerful leader, it does not even imagine removing him from the list of untouchables. It is still implementing the synoptic table revealed by the leader, that some miscreants have eaten pears and apples behind his back.
In fact, it cannot be otherwise. In a system where elections are stolen, where the opposition has been crushed, where the media is in trouble and civil society has been castrated, it is utopia to dream of a completely independent justice institution.
This is also the drama of SPAK. There, some "pig-headed" prosecutor, supported by the scruples of internationals in order not to be finally embarrassed, who is occasionally stepping out of line, has shot. Hence we see events produced without Rama's consent. But from here to true justice is another road... And for now it is impossible.
