Brian Spahiu - the 3-year-old boy who lost his life after surgery in a private clinic, could have been the child of each of us - the grown-up, responsible beings who decide the fate of our children's lives.

Like his grandfather, we, too, would, by our decision, take the child to a well-known doctor, because in a passing case we could have been satisfied with his service.

At the stage where our society is, this is functional.

But after we leave the child in the hands of the doctor and the door of the operating room closes in front of our faces, we no longer exist. We have passed the responsibility of our child's life to the doctor.

In the case of 3-year-old Brian, the doctor kept him away from his parents' decision-making for 9 hours, several times exceeding the "two hours maximum" he had promised them.

The child would be alone and without any opportunity to react and report the discomfort, suffering, pain, for 9 long hours.

No one knows what exactly happened in the operating room and what was the thing that was not working and required a multiplied time.

No one, apart from the members of a private family business - the anesthetist and his surgeon daughter - knows what happened, why the poor patient's condition worsened, what measures were taken and whether the medical protocols applied in such situations were followed.

Brian then handed you over to your semi-comatose parents. "The child never opened his eyes and behaved as if he were dead. The body was swaying as if he were dead. The hand was falling as if he was dead. The doctor told us that after, at most, 30 minutes, the narcosis would wear off and he would be fine" - repeat the relatives .

But this is not the only concern of parents and relatives.

They have also felt worried in the Emergency Department of the Children's Hospital, where the anesthesiologist of the private clinic raised his voice more than the emergency doctors, who should be masters of the workplace and where someone, the bravest, or the most pain, carefully whispered in his ear that the little one was suffering from the carelessness of an anesthetic overdose.

However, until now, everyone remains under suspicion of negligent treatment, as well as the official accusation of the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana.

The problems, or doubts, especially for family members, were multiplied by the televised interview of the anesthesiologist. According to them, the doctor, most of the time, lied.

1- He lied when he said that he delivered the child healthy after the intervention.

2-He lied when he confessed that the child, after coming out of anesthesia, looked for his father or his newborn brother.

3-He lied when he said that the child hugged his father with his own hands.

4- He lied when he said that he answered all the calls on his personal phone. The truth, according to the family members, is that he did not answer their calls made immediately after arriving home from the clinic, when the child's health condition had completely deteriorated. According to them, the anesthesiologist would only be alive a day later, when he appeared in the Children's Hospital Emergency Room.

4- He lied when he talked about eventual complications from congenital diseases of the small patient. According to family members, the boy was in perfect health. The only problem - a cardiac abnormality after birth - was completely cured after a heart intervention at 9 months of age. Performed at the "Mother Teresa" Hospital Center, the operation was a complete success and the baby had no heart problems at all. Likewise, even though he was only 9 months old, the anesthesia during this operation went perfectly.

5-He lied when he said that he did not put the child into surgery immediately, as he had lightning and waited a few days for this, or a similar illness, to leave his body...

And at this point, the family members of the young boy who lost his life, and not only, come to some completely logical questions: why is the anesthesiologist lying? What is he trying to hide?

Of course, negligence or mistakes in the profession are human. They are acceptable, recognized and assimilated, either by justice or by opinion. But when you try to escape, together with the girl and the private clinic, through multiple lies, trying to clear yourself of everything, there is no question of being relieved of the accusation of negligence. This is where the situation gets worse, as it comes close to murder.
