Madonna and Guy Ritchie, unexpected reunion after 17 years

It was December 2000 when two of the biggest names in the entertainment industry decided to tie the knot. Absolute pop star Madonna and cinema's "golden child" Guy Ritchie got married, drawing all the attention to themselves.

Their marriage was not destined to last; in 2008, the 67-year-old musician would file for divorce and both parties would reach a compromise shortly thereafter.

This was also the last time Madonna and Guy Ritchie were in the same place, even though they had two children together.

It took 17 years for 25-year-old Rocco to finally have his new exhibition in Soho for the successful director and Madonna to be in the same room.

Both supported the art exhibition of their son, who is known in art circles by the nickname Rhed.

In fact, Madonna and Richie's meeting was announced by Rocco himself, with a post on Instagram.

"It's clear why some people criticize me, I don't blame them. However, I am proud of who I am and even prouder to have both of my parents in the same space supporting me," he wrote in the caption accompanying the photo of the three of them.

Of course, Madonna and Guy Ritchie weren't the only celebrities to attend the opening of Rocco's exhibition, titled "Conversation is Free." /CNA
