To the public, she was considered the most beautiful blonde woman in Hollywood, but inside, the model-turned-actress faced daily demons that led to her untimely death at the age of 36. Somehow, it seemed that in August of 1962, Marilyn Monroe was somehow getting her life in order. She had just bought her first house in the Brentwood neighborhood of California for $75,000, was on the cover of Life magazine and had just been recast in the movie Something's Got to Give.

Marilyn Monroe's life, from her brilliance after being abandoned by her parents as a child to her tragic end, is a bit like the story of Cinderella. While her death at the age of 36 was ruled a suicide, although theories about the cause of her death still abound.
