Famous American actor Brad Pitt, who recently spoke on the "New Heights" podcast about overcoming obstacles, is ready to leave the past behind, having learned from his mistakes in parenting and marriage.

"Divorce has been something that has dominated his life for many years. It was such a difficult and toxic situation. He loved her and he knows he made mistakes," an insider tells Us Weekly exclusively about his split from Angelina Jolie.

Pitt and Jolie began dating in 2004 and married ten years later. They first announced their separation in 2016. The former couple's divorce was finalized in December 2024, eight years after Jolie initially filed for divorce.

The magazine's source notes that the events leading up to the breakup and the aftermath turned the children against him, but Pitt doesn't blame Jolie for everything.

"The case is over, but there is no winner. It's hard for him because he doesn't have a good relationship with his children," the source says.

The Hollywood star and Jolie have six children: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. Pitt's relationship with his children has been strained as he and Jolie have battled in court over custody in the years since filing for divorce. /CNA
