This year, the Song Festival at RTSH has stirred up a lot of controversy. Many well-known figures in the field, journalists, and other art-loving persons, have issued strong criticisms against the selection of the winner and the representative of Albania in Eurovision.

Recently, the singer and producer Genc Salihu, who was part of the jury this year, also reacted.

He described as "unfortunate" the fact that this year Albania will not be represented by Elsa Lila at Eurovision.

During an interview for "Euronea", he considered Elsa Lila's performance fantastic and according to him the song "Evita" would rank Albania higher in the European festival.

Among other things, he sang songs like that of Albina Kelmendi, "Duje", are listed below compared to the others.

"Elsa Lila has been fantastic. I was stunned by her performance. History has shown that the highest rankings of Albanian materials in Eurovision were not those of the 'Duje' type, but those of the 'Evita' type, such as Suus or Eugent Bushpepaj. It's a shame that Elsa Lila doesn't represent us at Eurovision, but the other song isn't controversial either. I have nothing against the other song, but Elsa would rank us higher in the Eurosong.
