The writer and artist, Besa Muftiu, surprised some time ago when she said that she and her Swiss husband now live in an open marriage.

From time to time they create relationships with others, but they are still together and happy or sad about each other's stories.

For the artist Besa Myftiu, at the same time the mother of the singer Elina Duni, this thing seems simple, because in her life nothing is within the Albanian "norm".

In an interview for "Living" magazine about her open relationship, she said:

"My husband and I can have our own lives, we live in different cities. After 20 years, things change... We are like friends, so there is no problem even if one of us falls in love with someone else. On the contrary, we rejoice for the other."

This open relationship does not prevent Besa from continuing to love her husband and that she is not hurt at all when he has feelings of love or a relationship with another woman.

"I continue to love him, but love changes; it's a different kind, we've been in love for years. Elina and I are the first to understand when he is in love with someone else. I'm the first, who else will he tell? It happened that from time to time he had a relationship and I was as upset as he was when he broke up. When you love the other, you want him to be well, with whom he loves and how he loves. We are each happy in our own city. And why did you want me to be separated by law? What has he done to me? We need and live as brothers and sisters. Practically, this is what happens to all couples in Albania, but they don't say it. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, which for us is a social contract. We are very good as we are", concluded Besa Muftiu.
