"Statue, hidden and coarsely crafted"/ Sadik Bejko: Ismail

The poet Sadik Bejko has strongly reacted to the memorial of Ismail Qemali in Tirana.

Through a status on social networks, Bejko says that the statute for Ismail Qemalin is thickly made and is placed as if hidden in a hole by the flower garden, near the Presidency.

He emphasizes that it would be better not to have such a statue in such a place, as he underlines that the figure of the founder of the Albanian state does not deserve to be mistreated.

The boulevard of the Center of Tirana in the fragment from Ura e Lana to the Presidency begins with the statues of the three Frashëri Brothers and ends with the statue of Qemal Stafa.

Among these, in a hole by the flower bed, as if hidden, is a coarsely crafted statue of Ismail Qemal Vlora.

Better not to be such a statue and in such a place, than to be.

The founder of the Albanian state does not deserve such mistreatment. At least, if something better is thought of in the height and dignity of the figure of the Founder of the Albanian state, such a statue should be removed", writes the poet./ BA - CNA.al
