Murder of Greek mafia boss / 4 people arrested, including two Albanians

Greek police have arrested four people suspected of involvement in the murder of Giorgos Moskouris, known by the nickname "Thamnakia", an event that occurred on April 24, 2025 in Halandri, Athens.

According to the investigation, the arrested, Dhionis Kokoni, a person with the surname Jupe, as well as two Greek citizens, Dhimitris Aleksopoulos and Aleksandros Petropoulos, are suspected of having played a supporting role in the assassination. Two of them are reported to be of Albanian origin.

Greek authorities suspect that the group helped organize the murder by providing weapons, vehicles and logistics for the perpetrators' escape after the execution.

The investigation is also focusing on possible links to organized crime networks operating internationally and related to tobacco smuggling. The file also mentions other names from the underworld and the possibility of clashes between rival mafia groups.

In addition, the arrested are also suspected of involvement in other criminal activities, including the installation of GPS devices and surveillance of persons related to criminal investigations, as well as an explosion that occurred in 2024 in Nea Erythraia.

However, the direct perpetrators of the murder remain at large and are suspected of having fled Greece immediately after the assassination, which occurred in broad daylight near a private clinic./ CNA
