Caught with a truckload of wood/ Under police investigation

The forestry police officer of the Maliq municipality is being prosecuted after he was caught red-handed with a truck loaded with timber. From the investigations of the police station of Maliqi, it was found that Eduart Kodra had cut the amount of 7 m3 of timber in the forest massifs of Zboqi and Këmbëthekra with the intention of selling it in the village of Sovjan.

During the check, the police seized a shotgun from the 47-year-old man, which he was carrying without a permit, while the vehicle transporting the contraband timber was also without the relevant documentation.

In addition to the investigations of the police station of Maliqi, the Economic Crime Sector in the Korçë Police Department has also started investigations for the criminal offense of "abuse of duty".
