5 thousand euros of smuggled goods seized/ 46-year-old arrested, two border

The services of the Local Directorate for Border and Migration Shkodra have intensified controls at all border crossing points, in order to prevent and combat cross-border crimes. Based on information obtained during an operational operation for smuggling of goods, the services of the DVKM Shkodra have stopped on the “Shkodra-Muriqan” road axis the vehicle driven by citizen FL, who was transporting contraband goods in his vehicle, in the amount of 352 boxes (8448 cans) of soft drinks.

Following are the actions for this case:

– citizen FL, 46 years old, resident of Shkodra, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of "Smuggling of other goods";

– the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated for the criminal offense of "Abuse of Office", against citizens IK, 32 years old, and GK, 53 years old, both with the duty of inspectors at the Muriqan customs.

The goods and the vehicle were seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra, for further action./ CNA
