Following the news of the escorting of the DP candidate for this region to the Fier Police Station, a reaction has also come from the Fier Local Police Directorate.

On Sunday afternoon, candidate Fatjon Semanjaku confronted municipal police officers for removing a banner.

In the response, the circumstances of the incident are highlighted and it is clarified that the escort was carried out to prevent the escalation of the conflict.

Reaction of the Fier Local Police Directorate:

Regarding a published news item about the escorting of citizen FS (Candidate for deputy of the political entity Democratic Party) to the police station, we clarify that:

At around 18:50, the Director of the Municipal Police announced to the Fier DVP Operations Room that a political entity had placed a poster in the city center, in violation of the law, and was opposing the Municipal Police forces for removing this poster.

After receiving the notification, the Police services went to the scene and, in order to prevent the escalation of the conflict, escorted the person who was opposing the municipal police, the Democratic Party's candidate for deputy, citizen FS, who was immediately released.

The Fier Local Police Directorate assures political entities and citizens that the Police services are maximally committed to preventing and cracking down on illegalities as well as to guarantee order and security. /CNA
