An unusual case occurred in Kavaja, where a 28-year-old man staged his own kidnapping to obtain money from his father.

Police have arrested 28-year-old LC, who was not satisfied with just staging the kidnapping.

He also took the vehicle from his father, BC, and allegedly sold it.

A 45-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the incident, who was demanding money from BC, claiming that it was needed for the release of his son.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested for deceiving his father by faking his own kidnapping to get money. His accomplice, who was supposed to receive the demanded amount, has also been arrested.

Crime Investigation Specialists at the Kavaja Police Station arrested citizens LC, 28 years old, resident of Kavaja, and BK, 45 years old, resident of Durrës, in flagrante delicto.

The investigative actions resulted in the citizen LC deceiving his father, citizen BC, by telling him that he had been kidnapped and that a sum of euros was required for his release.

Citizen BK was caught red-handed in neighborhood no. 16 of the city of Durrës, demanding money from citizen BC, claiming that it would serve to release his son.

About 100 meters from the scene, the Police services also found the 28-year-old, who was arrested in flagrante delicto, after it turned out that he had staged the incident and had taken the vehicle from his father two days earlier, and is suspected of having sold it.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Kavajë, for further actions, for the criminal offense of "Fraud", committed in collaboration./ CNA
