The fire that broke out the day before in the forest massif of the village of Skuraj in Kurbin continues to be active, but with low intensity. On Friday afternoon, there was air intervention with an armed forces helicopter, but without managing to completely extinguish the flames, which, due to the density of the vegetation, spread rapidly in several directions.

According to data from Civil Protection, since the early hours of this Saturday morning, 50 forces from the Kurbin Municipality and 30 members of the armed forces have been on the ground. They are combing the entire forest massif with the aim of completely extinguishing the fire.

The General Director of the Fire Service, Arben Cara, says that attention is focused on completely extinguishing this fire and it is still too early to talk about its cause.

 

" The situation is currently stable, the fire is currently active. We have started work with additional forces from Kamëza. We are working but the fire is very active. It is still too early to talk about intentional fires or not because there was a wind that spread the flames very quickly in 1 minute ," said Cara.

 

 

The fire in the forest massif of the village of Skuraj in Kurbin appeared on Friday afternoon, while the rugged terrain prevented the intervention of forces from the ground, forcing Civil Protection structures to request the assistance of an Armed Forces helicopter.

Meanwhile, in addition to the Kurbin firefighters, those from Lezha, Mirdita and Kamza were also involved in the action./ CNA
