Illegal weapons arsenal discovered/36-year-old Albanian arrested in Italy

A fight between two Albanians led the Carabinieri of Appiano Gentile in Italy to discover a small arsenal of illegal weapons. This event led to the arrest of a 36-year-old Albanian, Oltion Brahimaj, a resident of Lomazzo, but residing in Rovellasca.

Italian media report that officers intervened on Via Cavour, where Brahimaj had been arguing with a 28-year-old Albanian.

During the argument, the 28-year-old filmed Brahimaj on his cellphone. Brahimaj reacted by hitting him in the face with the butt of a pistol, injuring him in the face. He then threatened to kill him and ran away.

As the Italian daily 'Il Giono' reports, a few moments later, the carabinieri patrol arrived and found the Albanian in his home, continuing to search him to find the weapon used in the attack.

Brahimaj initially denied using the weapon to attack his compatriot, claiming it was just a piece of iron. But then, when confronted with the footage taken by the injured man himself, he admitted to the act and accompanied the carabinieri to a garage in Bregnano.

The list of weapons seized included: a Pietro Beretta pistol, Gardone model, 9 mm, with an obliterated serial number and two magazines, the one allegedly used during the attack, a Colt King Cobra pistol with an obliterated serial number; a silencer compatible with the Beretta pistol, 212 .38 caliber cartridges of various types; seven 9 mm cartridges and one 9x21 caliber cartridge. White cloth gloves were also seized. /CNA
