Burned several olive trees/ Elderly man faces criminal charges

A 72-year-old resident of the village of Fatishë, Peqin, has been criminally prosecuted.

The elderly man was prosecuted on suspicion of starting a fire to burn waste, which resulted in the burning of a plot of land and several olive trees.

Police notification

Peqin/Dogji, a plot of land and several olive trees, in the village of Fatishë, are identified and criminally prosecuted.   

As a result of investigative actions to document the authorship of the arson cases, the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the Peqin Police Commissariat referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen PH, 72 years old, resident of the village of Fatishë.

Investigations suspect that this citizen started a fire in the village where he lived to burn waste and as a result of the spread of the flames, an area of land with herbs and several olive trees were burned.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Elbasan, for further action.

The Elbasan Local Police Directorate appeals again to all citizens not to light fires under any circumstances, as they will face the law. The police invite citizens to report any case of this criminal activity and illegalities in general to 112, and guarantees anonymity, a quick and impartial response./ CNA
