Drugs and money undeclaration/ Two cases of illegality in Muriqan are cracked

The Border Police at the Muriqan BCP have cracked down on two cases of illegality in the last 12 hours, in the field of narcotics trafficking and failure to declare money at the border.

In the first case, specialists from the Shkodra DVKM criminally prosecuted a Polish citizen, 49 years old, who was caught at the entrance to Albania with 38 thousand undeclared euros. During the physical search, 30 thousand euros were found, while another 8 thousand euros were found in his handbag.

In another case, the Police arrested two citizens from Tirana, aged 42 and 32, after about 4.2 kilograms of cannabis, divided into 8 packages, were found hidden in their vehicle during a check at the exit from the country.

According to preliminary investigations, the narcotics are suspected to have been obtained in Germany. The procedural materials have been referred to the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office for further action.

"During the last 12 hours, 2 cases of illegality have been cracked, in the field of drug trafficking and non-declaration of money and valuables. About 4.2 kg of cannabis were seized, 2 citizens were arrested. 38,000 euros were seized, a 49-year-old man who possessed them and did not declare them at the border is being prosecuted."

Following the work of the Border Police services at the Muriqan BCP, with the aim of preventing and cracking down on illegalities at the border, at the entrance to the Republic of Albania, 2 cases have been identified and cracked down on.

1. The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Shkodra DVKM initiated criminal proceedings at large against Polish citizen W. C., 49 years old, after during a physical search, at the entrance, 30,000 euros were found on him, which he had not declared in accordance with the law, while another 8,000 euros were found in his handbag.

2. Also, specialists from the Narcotics Investigation Section arrested citizens A. Sh., 42 years old, and EK, 32 years old, both residents of Tirana.

During the exit check, in the vehicle they were traveling in, the Muriqan BCP services found 8 bags of suspected cannabis hidden, weighing approximately 4.2 kg, which was seized as material evidence.

From the first investigative actions, it is suspected that the two citizens had purchased the narcotics in Germany.

"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra, for further action," the police announced./ CNA
