Zelensky in Britain: Russia should have no choice but to end the war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke at a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Zelensky began his speech by thanking the leaders of the EU and Britain for their support and willingness to continue their assistance to Ukraine.

"Today, all partners confirmed that next year they will continue to support Ukraine, our country, our stability, especially financial support, which is essential ," Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president further said that Russia is conducting a terror campaign against the Ukrainian energy system to use the winter cold as a tool of torture and pressure on Ukraine and its people.

Zelensky called for pressure on Russia through sanctions and the seizure of Russian assets. He also thanked US President Donald Trump for the sanctions he has announced against Russian oil companies.

Zelensky also reiterated the call to equip the country with American long-range Tomahawk missiles and thanked Sir Keir Starmer for providing Storm Shadow missiles.

"There should be no other choice for Russia than to end the war and restore peace to our country ," he says. /CNA
