Ukraine shoots down dozens of Russian drones

The Ukrainian defense has shot down 40 of the 50 drones that Russia launched against 11 Ukrainian regions on the morning of October 24.

The Ukrainian air force said seven Russian drones were downed due to at least problems with their navigation system.

The drones were shot down in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zhitomir, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkassy, ??Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Poltava and Chernihiv regions, as the air force added that one drone remained in Ukrainian airspace, while two others left in the direction of Russia and Belarus.

The Ukrainian military, meanwhile, announced that Russia fired two precision missiles and two cruise missiles, claiming that the missiles did not hit their targets.

Russia launched its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and since then has been attacking Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons, including drones and missiles./REL
