Ukraine to begin talks in Switzerland on peace plan with US

Ukraine will begin talks with the US on the 28-point peace plan jointly suggested by Russia and the US in the coming days in Switzerland.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that he had appointed a delegation to discuss with Washington a plan to stop Russia's war in Ukraine.

"I have signed a decree on the composition of the Ukrainian delegation and approved all relevant directives. Our representatives know how to protect Ukraine's national interests and exactly what is needed to prevent Russia from carrying out a third invasion, another attack against Ukraine," Zelensky said.

According to Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the country is entering the final stage of talks with the United States with a clear understanding of its national interests.

The US has drawn up a draft peace plan to end Russia's war with Ukraine with 28 points.

The draft was reportedly drafted by Trump negotiator Steve Witkoff and Kremlin official Kirill Dmitriev./CNA
