The 44th attempt to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo

The Kosovo Assembly is expected to hold its 44th attempt to reconvene today, at 11:00 AM, more than five months after the February 9 elections.

None of the previous sessions have been successfully concluded due to the inability to elect the Speaker and Deputy Speakers of the Assembly. In the last session, which was held late after a false bomb alarm, the approval of the secret ballot committee failed again.

The Vetëvendosje Movement has proposed Albulena Haxhiu for Speaker of the Parliament, insisting that the vote be held by secret ballot.

This request is being opposed by the opposition parties PDK, LDK, AAK and Nisma, which refuse to propose members for the commission and accuse Vetëvendosje of a lack of cooperation.
