American Ambassador Jeff Hovenier has reacted after the situation created in the north of Kosovo.
Through a Twitter status, he expressed his concern, saying that there are no conditions at the moment for holding elections in the north of the country.
"The United States is concerned that the conditions have not been created at the moment for the elections to be held at the end of this month in the north of Kosovo. The safety of all citizens of Kosovo must be the highest priority. We ask that all those involved show restraint", he writes.
Hovenier also wrote that violence is never a means of protest, while condemning yesterday's incidents in the north.
"The United States condemns those who used violence during yesterday's incidents in the north of Kosovo. The use of violence and intimidation, including the use of explosive devices, as well as endangering lives, is never an appropriate method of protest, under any circumstances," Hovenier wrote on Twitter. - continues Hovenier./CNA.al
