US Secretary Rubio meets Saudi minister/ Focus on strengthening US-EAB

Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud. The Secretary and Defense Minister underscored the importance of strengthening the U.S.-Saudi security partnership.

They also discussed ways to jointly promote peace and stability in Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, and the wider region, including Red Sea security and freedom of navigation. The Secretary stressed the need to stand together against Houthi threats to regional security.

Rubio emphasized that advancing mutual interests in the Middle East and ensuring security and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea are among the top priorities of the Trump administration.

This comes at a time when US-Saudi relations have been affected by various security and economic issues in recent years, and strengthening these relations has become one of the Trump administration's foreign policy priorities.

Continued cooperation between the United States and Saudi Arabia is essential to addressing regional security challenges. Both countries recognize the strategic importance of their relationship, particularly in ensuring stability in the Middle East.

The meeting between Rubio and Prince Khalid is an important step toward reaffirming their commitment to this partnership, as they work together to navigate both geopolitical and economic challenges in the region.
