Prague has decided to limit problematic tourists visiting the country. According to the announcement from the municipality of Prague, tours of night clubs will be banned in order to document the excessive consumption of alcohol.
Movement will be restricted from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Authorities explain that "the unreasonable consumption of alcohol and rowdy behavior associated with these bar crawls can have a negative impact" on the perception that tourists, potential investors and citizens themselves have of the community.
In addition to the city's centuries-old history, many tourists to Prague are also attracted by the low price of beer and in general by the city's reputation as a good place to party.
Agencies that organize pub tours in Prague have criticized the new order as they say they were not consulted and that it is disorganized tourists who create more noise and nuisance.
Prague has 1.3 million inhabitants and was visited last year by 7.3 million tourists, an increase of 25 percent compared to the previous year.
