The body of the latest victim of the deadly and devastating floods that hit various parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina earlier this month has been found.

The last victim, who was searched in the Konjica area after the floods in that area, was found in the Jabllanica lake, the mayor of the Konjica municipality, Osman Qati?, said on Wednesday.

The victim is a 62-year-old man from the village of Buturovic Polje, near Konjica, who disappeared from the floods of October 4 in this part of the country.

"He is the last victim of the floods that has been searched for in the Konjica area in recent days", said Qati? for Radio Free Europe.

Qatiq emphasized that his dead body was found in the lake of Jabllanica, and that his wife also lost her life in these floods.

A total of 27 people lost their lives in the floods and landslides that hit Bosnia on October 4, 19 of them in Donja Jabllanica, a village in Jabllanica, five in Konjica, and three in Fojnica.

On Tuesday, about 2,000 people attended the burial of 19 people who lost their lives as a result of floods and landslides in Donja Jabllanica.

Torrential rains and strong winds lashed parts of southern and central Bosnia on October 4, destroying homes, roads and cutting power and blocking access to several villages.

Rescue teams from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro helped search for missing people in flooded areas over the past week, while engineering units helped with other recovery efforts.

The government of Kosovo announced last week that it will help Bosnia and Herzegovina with 200,000 euros, after the deadly floods./ REL
