Mysterious Earth-sized planet may be hiding in the Solar System

Astronomers have found possible evidence of an Earth-like planet in the Solar System that may be orbiting the Sun in an orbit beyond Neptune.

Physicists, including those from the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, said the planet could be very close.

Several studies in the past have suggested that there is an as yet undiscovered planet beyond the Kuiper Belt - a stellar disk of material such as asteroids, space rocks, comets around the Sun in the outer Solar System, passing the orbit of Neptune.

In new research, recently published in The Astronomical Journal, scientists discovered that some of the objects in the Kuiper belt behave in a way that indicates the presence of a small planet among them./ CNA
