Ukraine-Russia negotiations / Switzerland offers to host future meetings between

Switzerland has offered to host any future international meeting aimed at negotiating a peaceful solution to the war in Ukraine. The statement was made by the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak. Yermak said he spoke with Gabriel Lüchinger, Switzerland's national security adviser, as part of ongoing discussions between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter.

During the conversation, Yermak informed Lüchinger about the meetings between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul and about the progress in negotiations to end the war.

"We also discussed the upcoming dialogue on a just peace. Switzerland confirmed its readiness to host further meetings to reach a political solution," Yermak wrote in a post on the Telegram platform.

A new round of talks between Ukrainian and Russian delegations could take place at the Vatican in mid-June, according to The Wall Street Journal.

On May 19, President Zelensky said that Kyiv is considering another mid-level meeting involving delegations from Ukraine, Russia, the United States and European countries. He said the meeting could be held in Turkey, the Vatican or Switzerland. /CNA
