Harvard University to end international student enrollment

The US administration has taken steps to end Harvard's ability to enroll international students. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the administration had revoked the certification of Harvard's Student and Exchange Visitor Program as a result of its failure to comply with the law.

"Let this serve as a warning to all universities and academic institutions across the country," Noem wrote in 'X'.

The administration's decisions could affect thousands of international students studying at the university. More than 6,700 international students enrolled at the institution last academic year, university records show, making up 27% of its student body.

The news spread rapidly throughout the international community, causing fear and frustration among thousands of students whose futures were suddenly thrown into doubt. /CNA
