The Communication Interoperability and Security Cooperation Agreement (CISMOA) was signed today in Pristina between the KSF and J6 of the US Army European Command.

According to Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci, this agreement is of particular importance as it enables the exchange of secure, cryptographic information and the use of advanced defense technology by the KSF.

The KSF's relations with its strategic allies are important in its strengthening and development, and in line with this, the US European Command (EUCOM) will continue to play a key role in building defense capabilities.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has also reacted. Through a post on social networks, Kurti stated that the signing of this agreement is an achievement in the field of defense.

"On August 24, 2023, together with the then US Ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, we signed the agreement on security measures to protect classified information, thus further strengthening the basis of cooperation between our two countries in the field of security. Today, that agreement is being further concretized by our Security Force and the J6 of the United States Army European Command with a special agreement on Interoperability and Security in Communications.

"I congratulate the Commander of the Kosovo Security Force, Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, and the Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, for this important achievement in building the capacities of the KSF and express my gratitude to the United States of America for its continued support and close cooperation, especially in the field of defense," Kurti said. /CNA
